Healing the Inner Girl, Childbirth and the Relationship with the Mother

Motherhood can bring to light deep emotions linked to our own childhood, to the relationship with our mother and to the experience of our own birth. For this reason, this module offers a space of listening and awareness in which to meet the parts of us that still need to be seen, welcomed and understood.

The Inner Girl

  • Recognising your own story: understanding how childhood experiences have helped to create beliefs, fears and ways of relating that can resurface during motherhood.

  • Welcoming unexpressed needs: learning to listen to that part of us that needs love, safety, recognition and acceptance.

  • Recognising and transforming old patterns: becoming aware of the patterns handed down by our family so that we can choose what to keep passing on and what to interrupt.

  • Working on the relationship with your mother: looking at the maternal relationship with greater awareness, recognising what we received and what was missing, in order to free ourselves gradually from anger, pain, guilt or the need for approval.

  •

Healing the Experience of Childbirth

Not every birth is experienced as a positive one. A difficult birth, a highly medicalised one, or one lived through with fear, loss of control, loneliness, intense pain or separation from your baby can leave a deep emotional mark, even when everything, from a medical point of view, went well.

This path is also intended for women who have already given birth and feel that they have not yet processed their experience.

Through awareness practices, body listening, visualisations and emotional work, the woman is guided to:

  • give meaning to her experience of childbirth;

  • recognise and express the emotions that have remained blocked or unheard;

  • work through experiences of fear, helplessness, anger, sadness or guilt;

  • reconnect with her body and with her capacity to give life;

  • transform the memory of the birth into an integrated part of her story, without still being conditioned by it.

The work does not change what happened, but it can change the way that experience continues to live within us.

Your Own Birth and the Bond with Your Mother

Exploring your own birth can help you understand certain deep-seated experiences linked to separation, welcome, safety and the relationship with the mother figure.

It is not about reconstructing or changing what really happened, but about meeting the emotions and meanings that our story carries with it, creating a space of greater awareness and compassion towards ourselves.

A New Beginning

Motherhood can become an opportunity to break certain inherited patterns and to consciously choose what we wish to pass on to our children.

Taking care of your own story also means allowing the mother we are today to feel freer, more present and more aware, without asking our child to heal our own wounds.

It is a journey that takes us from the woman we have been to the mother we choose to become.
