Event info

This is an 80-hour training suitable for anyone who wants to explore a gentle, feminine and deep type of yoga, in order to connect with the magic of pregnancy.

This path is suitable for everyone with an interest in the field of childbirth: midwives, doulas, teachers or simply expectant mothers.

The aim of this module is to teach women to live with awareness during pregnancy. An awareness that can help them on the physical, mental and spiritual levels. This help will be fundamental to managing pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period as well as possible.

The secondary aim, though no less important, is to give the baby a deep energy to help them become strong and aware in life, so that they can bring change and transformation within themselves and in the world. They can become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

Change begins at the roots, which is why it is necessary to help mothers live with joy, positivity and spirituality. This course will be effective in finding tools to give to these roots, so that the “trees can bear their fruit to the whole world”.

Bhakti yoga is an approach of love and devotion towards the practice, fundamental to living the experience

of pregnancy, birth and motherhood with surrender and naturalness. The Bhakti approach will be

central to our training.

  • Postures (Asanas) for pregnant women, practice and assistance. The postures are elaborated both on the technical-physical level and on the symbolic level. Postures that recall the ancient in order to bring about transformation in the present. Asanas according to the chakras (energy centres). It is necessary to know all the postures that cannot be done during pregnancy in order to create the right dynamic sequences. The level will be both beginner and intermediate. The asanas suited to the various trimesters will therefore be taught.
  • Restorative yoga with the help of cushions, blocks, blankets, straps and chairs. This practice is useful not only during pregnancy but also for the elderly, for those who suffer from insomnia, chronic stress, significant physical pain, and for processing wounds and sorrows. These techniques are highly appreciated because they give considerable relief from the various tensions experienced during this time.
  • Meditations and techniques to connect with the baby and prepare for birth. Yoga gives excellent tools of awareness to best face our fears and imbalances. We will also learn to recognise how the chakras act during pregnancy and to guide meditations through themes that will be developed during the classes.
  • Learning the language of newborns in order to teach it to expectant mothers. This is revolutionary! Knowing the language of babies means saying goodbye to the hysterical crying that most babies and parents have to face. This could drastically simplify the hard experience of the first months. Mothers will thank you for this!
  • Ayurveda and Pregnancy: learning the lifestyle to adopt during this phase. Ayurveda is an ancient knowledge that covers all fields and phases of life, and therefore pregnancy too. Knowing ayurveda for conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and nutrition in pregnancy is undoubtedly a great treasure.
  • Anatomy of Prenatal Yoga, with discomforts and descriptions of the stages of pregnancy. We rediscover the anatomical side with a midwife who will guide us through the various stages of pregnancy, giving us knowledge of the various problems or dysfunctions that may arise throughout the gestational period.

During pregnancy

The ideal pregnancy begins, more or less, six months before conception, when both parents begin to purify and rejuvenate their bodies. When they feel in full health they can unite their seeds at an auspicious moment.

If their body is not healthy, this imbalance will be reflected in the sperm and the egg and, as a consequence, in the baby. Mating on even days helps to have a boy, whereas on odd days a girl may be born.

It is very important for parents to prepare to welcome the baby. If the baby is unwanted, they are able to perceive it and may already develop imbalances from birth.

The woman must be treated very well, since her imbalance also influences the disturbance of the Doshas (constitution) of the foetus. Meditating during this period is of great benefit, since the mental faculties of the pregnant woman diminish. These mental functions return to normal only six months after birth.
